Final VBS and Celebration
For our final VBS, we switched up the teams. People who had done sports were now doing dance, people who have done games were now doing storytelling, people who had done storytelling we’re now doing music. How fun it was to see everyone step up and serve the beautiful children yet one more day!
We enjoyed one last home visit in the community and were told that in the past three days our students had visited 50 homes!
When we returned from our home visits we were brought into the main meeting room where Valley Christian students became the honored guests of Hope School Kariobangi! There are some pictures and videos below, but I will readily admit that they will not do justice to what we all felt. Love permeated the hot and dusty air as songs were sung in English and Swahili, Bible verses were recited, cake was eaten, and gifts were given. All of the students received colorful precious Maasai warrior blankets!
It is truly an act of God when strangers can quickly be come friends because Christ is the center of those relationships. Tears were shed as we got on the bus for the last time in Kariobangi. Good tears but tears nonetheless.
The earth is the Lord’s & all it contains, the world , & those who dwell in it Psalm 24:1 So thrilled these young people get to see, be with & share the love of Christ in a part of His world so far & unlike their own yet with those He created in His image just as they are with the same ultimate need & purpose on earth!!
